Getting Legally Married in Quintana Roo

You will also declare a marital property regime, and you need four witnesses over 18 with valid identification, who may be foreigners.

Two timing rules matter. Apostilles and certified translations take weeks, so start two to three months before you travel. And you generally need to be in Mexico three business days before the ceremony, arriving before noon for the first day to count.

Even with the simplified rules, most couples on this coast still marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony here.
